I grew up in Queens NY in the 50's and 60's and worked for the LIRR for nearly 30 years. During the 60's, I extensively photographed the LIRR's parlor car service and also concentrated on the "back road", i.e. the Montauk Branch between Jamaica and LIC.

My other interest was South Jersey and Erie-Lackawanna service in North Jersey although summer work and college prevented me from crossing the Hudson as often as I would have liked. So the views I am sharing are thin but distinctive on New Jersey and voluminous on the LIRR. I obsess about the quality of the view so images will be a few at a time as time permits.
